Full Job Description

Support the operation of our Vertical Ground Test Facility at the Cotswold Business Park, Kemble.

You will report to the Test Operations and Facility Lead and work with the Test Team technicians to coordinate the effective day-to-day running of our Kemble site. You will work closely with the wider Test and Development team and the other engineering functions using the Kemble site. You will liaise with our Facilities, I.T., Logistics and Quality-Heath-Safety-and-Environment departments on day-to-day site matters.

The responsibilities and duties of the Test Operations Assistant will include:

  • Preparation and control of site for high energy rotor testing, ensuring access control and safety are maintained.

  • Procurement (including, consumables, tools, equipment) - ordering, receiving, receipting and storage

  • 'Front of house' for the site, welcoming in visitors, contractors and staff

  • Oversee upkeep and maintenance of the test facility.

  • Liaising with various contractors for minor site works

  • Managing test team assets lists - lifting equipment, tools, test equipment, aircraft parts

  • Arranging tool and equipment calibration

  • Organisation of regular and deep cleaning

  • Supporting routine HSE inspections and management of PPE stocks.

  • Follow up/escalation of H&S issues

  • Managing catering stocks for the site canteen

  • Waste management - arranging collections of scrap parts, scheduling waste tank empties

  • Maintain the site attendance register including monitoring of key roles - key holder, first aid, fire marshal

    The successful Test Operations Assistant will have the following experience & qualifications:

  • The ability to solve new problems in a fast-paced start-up environment

  • Pro-active nature in finding issues and ensuring their resolution, with an eye for continual improvement

  • Competent with Microsoft Applications. Ability to learn new software skills quickly.

  • A background in manufacturing/facilities/workshop environment would be beneficial

  • Experience in producing risk assessments would be beneficial.

  • Be fluent in spoken and written English language

  • Strong organisational skills.

  • A team player with a can-do attitude who works well in a range of teams.
