Winding Shop Support Technician

As a Winding Shop Support technician, you will use machinery to manufacture coils and insulations to refurbish various types of equipment, such as electric motors, generators, transformers.

You should be able to perform tests on electrical items, such as motors.
Due to the nature of the business and the service offering of 24 hours support to the client base, you will be expected to undertake some level of flexibility within the normal working pattern and be available to work a level of un-social hours including weekends and Bank Holidays., 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, 0800-1630 hours, however there may be occasions due to business/client/customer demand that additional hours of work may be required i.e some weekends and bank holidays.

• Basic mechanical aptitude.


• Previous experience in dismantling, stripping and rewinding of AC/DC motors, pumps and other electro-mechanical equipment, including medium and high voltage equipment.


• Previous experience of working in a workshop-type environment which is fast-paced.


• Ability to read and understand technical drawings


• possess a great deal of manual and finger dexterity and hand-arm steadiness


• follow detail instructions.


• Majority of the working day will involve extensive standing whilst performing tasks


• Ensure all daily output targets are achieved,


• Being pro-active in identifying opportunities for efficiencies ie. reducing cost and waste


• Perform basic maintenance tasks on the machinery, tooling and equipment.


• Ensure excellent standard of housekeeping are maintained at all times


• Flexible in your work approach


• Excellent team working ethics


• Be able to work under your own initiative and be highly self-motivated


• Be able to work under pressure and to strict customer deadlines


• Have basic knowledge of Health and Safety legislation


Desirable Skills/Experience :

• Ideally apprentice trained in electrical motor rewinding.
