Yard Manager

We are seeking a Yard Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our yard facility. The ideal candidate will have a forklift operator ticket and be responsible for managing day to day yard activities and facilitating works on site with required tools and equipment., As yard manager you are expected to make a significant contribution to ensure the success of the business.

· To effectively communicate with the buying team, contracts managers and third parties to ensure success of the business through management of materials stocks, plant, tools and waste.

· To maintain a safe and tidy yard/stores and ancillary areas.

· Implement and manage transportation management systems to streamline yard operations.

· Oversee logistics processes including shipping, receiving goods and inventory management.

· Identify and monitor areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.

· Develop and implement efficient business processes to enhance productivity.

· Coordinate supply chain activities to ensure timely delivery of goods.

· Supervise the use of forklifts and other equipment in the yard. Care for stock in yard (plants, trees)

· Ensuring timely opening up / closing of the yard daily or sufficient cover during periods of leave. Ensuring tools/plant are serviced, tracked and logged out/in.

Proven experience in yard operations.
- Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory management practices.
- Familiarity with business processes related to supply chain management.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other yard equipment.

Experience in tool/plant and kit management
