NIXA, Mo. (KY3) - Storms tore through the Ozarks on Thursday evening and the Christian County community got hit the worst by these storms.

William Collins lives off of N. Gregg Road in Nixa. On Thursday, around 9:30 p.m., a tree came through his son’s front bedroom, but thankfully, his son wasn’t home.

“I was sitting in my recliner watching a movie when a big BOOM hit. It sounded like a bomb going off in my house,” Collins said.

Crews from Ryan Lawn and Tree Care came to help assess the damage. Forestry Consultant Brandon Adamson said his crews have been extremely busy after Thursday’s storms.

“So far this morning, we’ve gone to several failures like uprooted trees, a lot of broken limbs, limbs on houses, in yards, things of that nature,” Adamson said.

We did reach out to Christian Co. Emergency Management and were told they are not available to interview on Friday. If you have leftover debris in your front yard, the City of Ozark is holding a debris drop-off. Information on the drop-off is available in the image below.
