This deep understanding will not only boost your confidence but will also enable you to articulate the benefits of your solutions more effectively to others.

-

You have already adapted, improvised, and overcome if you are reading this. Make sure you take an honest self assessment and don't seel yourself short. If the unknown comes your way, remember you have a 100% success rate at overcoming unknowns to this point. So don't waver in knowing you can handle new unknown things. Be honest about your weaknesses but don't over emphasize them. These are boundaries that help you best understand where your strengths aren't so you can emphasize where your strengths are.
To promote your ideas successfully, you need to engage with educators and understand their needs. These are the individuals who will be implementing your technology in their classrooms. Listen to their challenges and feedback, and show them how your solution can make their teaching more effective and efficient. Tailor your communication to address their concerns and highlight the ease of integration and potential for improving student engagement and outcomes.
-
-
Ask lots of questions. You may have ideas but educators are your boots on the ground. Let their needs inform your work and always try to align your tech to real needs. If it does a cool thing that does not meet a real need then it doesn't do much good.
-
Communication about educational technology is often engrained in simply listening. Listen to the needs of your stakeholders and value their opinions about the platform's use among students. Empathize with the unique needs found in concerns and celebrations voiced by educators who use your platform daily. Consider creating a thought board or parking lot of questions and concerns that engage educators about your platform but that also demonstrate the needs of stakeholders to your organization's leadership team.

No vedamos humo.
Building strong relationships within the educational community is essential. Network with other professionals at conferences, workshops, and online forums. Share your experiences and learn from others. By fostering these connections, you create a support system that can amplify your voice and provide opportunities to collaborate on projects or initiatives. Remember, the more you connect with others, the greater your influence and reach will be.
-
-
Never let even the smallest of connections go unnoticed. When working in the educational technology field whether publically or privately, networking matters. The teacher who lives in your neighborhood may use your product or program daily. The stranger you meet at your local library may have a child who uses your product or program each school year. Capitalize on interactions by providing all stakeholders with your contact information and a verbal or written "thank you." Connect with the field by showing them that they matter! Engage with stakeholders after initial connections through consistently meaningful interactions.
When you have a success story, share it! Case studies, testimonials, and real-world examples of how your technology has positively impacted learning can be powerful tools in promoting your ideas. They provide tangible proof that what you're offering is not just theoretical but has practical, successful applications. Success stories resonate with people and can often be the convincing factor for those who are hesitant or skeptical about adopting new technologies.
-
Success stories do matter. However, your audience is more likely to resonate with those stories when they get real-life characters that reflect their own interests, challenges, and opportunities. Storytelling is an art as well as a science, and you need to master it to have the desired impact on your audience.
-
Stay at the forefront of educational technology by being a lifelong learner. The field is constantly evolving, and keeping up with the latest trends and research will not only inform your own practice but also add credibility to your promotion efforts. Attend professional development courses, read relevant journals, and participate in online communities. Your commitment to continuous learning demonstrates that you are a knowledgeable and reliable source in the industry.
-
-
As an educational technology professional, staying ahead requires a commitment to continuous learning. Engage in professional development courses, stay updated with the latest research through relevant journals, and actively participate in online communities. This ongoing education not only enhances your own expertise but also bolsters your credibility when promoting your ideas and solutions. Demonstrating your dedication to staying current in the field signals to others that you are a knowledgeable and reliable expert.
Finally, the way you communicate your ideas can be just as important as the ideas themselves. Practice presenting your solutions in a clear, concise, and compelling manner. Use stories and analogies to make complex concepts more relatable. Confidence in speaking comes from preparation and practice, so take the time to refine your message and delivery. When you speak confidently, people listen and are more likely to be persuaded by your ideas.
-
-
Productive skills are hard to train. You can easily and quickly erase something you write but not something you say. I've learnt to reflect on what I'm writing and try to be objective. I read and check if my message is clear or not. Of course, it's not possible to do that when you're communicating ideas orally but you can train your pace, slow down a bit and get some precious seconds to notice if you are producing ideas correctly or mixing everything up. That helps in constructing confidence as well, once you see you can do it, you feel more courageous Remember: confidence 1st, fluency 2nd!
-
Consider using a digital gradebook. Initially, grading and tracking student progress was time-consuming and prone to errors even for me. By adopting a digital gradebook, teachers can now quickly input scores, generate reports, and communicate progress to students and parents efficiently. This not only saves time but also ensures accuracy and transparency, fostering a more supportive learning environment. When teachers clearly and confidently communicate the benefits of such tools, they highlight how technology can streamline processes and enhance educational outcomes.
-
-
Explain the why! By explaining the why behind your ideas or suggestions, you increase the chance of buy in, strengthen future working relationships, and lend credibility to your experience and expertise as an ed tech professional.
-
