As an active government employee, I am teleworking full time. As such, I see telework as a disadvantage for younger newer employees, as they don't get the formal and informal mentoring that would be available if they were in a traditional office setting and working closely with older more experienced employees. A well run office should have some procedures in place to try to allow new employees to get some recognition and help. Be forward in asking for these sorts of support. You have little to lose. Our team meets three times a week for at least 30 minutes to keep everyone in touch and answer questions and give updates.
