About us
In the early 2000’s how people skied was changing, but legacy ski companies continued to anchor their identities in alpine racing. What came to be known as freeskiing was a departure from anything that had come before – it shared more in common with the freedom of snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing than it did with anything seen in skiing at the time. This new movement left more to the imagination, and there was a shared sentiment among a new generation of skiers that the style and progression they were pursuing should be celebrated. The time had come for a company that did exactly that. The handful of people at the epicenter of skiing’s evolution came together: five skiers and a photographer from across the US, Canada and Europe consisting of JP Auclair, Tanner Hall, JF Cusson, Julien Regnier and Boyd Easley, along with snow sports photographer Chris O’Connell, or “OC.” This crew was poised to adapt the team-based model of snowboarding and skateboarding to a ski brand. OC’s business plan began simply: “Armada. What skiing will become.”

The FW23 Whitewalker 116 | Sammy Carlson's Pro Model by Armada Skis Had the honor to develop this graphic from the start to finish with Sammy. He considers them his samurai swords while launching massive pillow lines in British Columbia and wherever else his travels take him. We ran with a toned down acid tie dye direction that photographs and films well out in the mountains.

Armada Skis x Madsteez We put this project together this last spring. The vision was to make a ski wall as big as possible for Madsteez to come out and do a mural. Each ski to then be sold as 1 of 90 pairs. When we started sketching out how to mount 90 pairs of skis in the mountains I realized how ambitious this project really was. Had a great crew come together and make it happen even amidst a late season storm in the Austrian Alps. Check out the edit below. As the ski season kicks off into high gear, our ski production is in full swing ⛷️ We are proud to manufacture Atomic, Salomon, and Armada skis under the same roof in our Altenmarkt factory in Austria, just meters away from where Atomic skis are also designed. But what really goes into one pair? Depending on the model, 30 to 40 different steps – and plenty of craftsmanship. We visited the Altenmarkt factory to learn more.
