June 19, 1865. On this day, freedom finally reached the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, nearly two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Today, we honor and reflect on this pivotal moment in our nation's history as well as the resilience, strength, and enduring spirit of the African American community. Did you know that this milestone is also commemorated with a flag? The star represents the state of Texas, and the starburst symbolizes a new beginning for African Americans. The red, white, and blue is a reminder that slaves and their descendants were and are Americans; and the arc between red and blue is the new horizon of opportunity and promise ahead. This includes a cutting-edge automated body weld cell and cap line equipment, designed to streamline processes, enhance quality, and reduce waste.
