We're excited to share our latest project in collaboration with Kozney-Wagner! Using our CAT 308 & 320 excavators, Brewster Companies recently removed the failing deck and handrail from the historic Lafayette Bridge in Forest Park. Originally built in 1888, this bridge serves as a roadway over Deer Lake at Grand Drive. After the deck removal, our partners will replace the cross members, tuckpoint the limestone abutments, repaint the girders, and install a brand-new deck. The original decorative posts will be carefully cleaned, repainted, and reinstalled to preserve the bridge’s historic charm. Once this is complete, Brewster will finish the project by laying new asphalt approaches on either side of the bridge. Brewster is excited to be part of the growing clean energy initiative in Illinois. We provided excavation work and pile driving for the eventual placement of solar panels on a new solar farm project in northern Illinois. Using our pile driver, we placed thousands of piles into the ground to serve as the foundation for the solar panels .
