Gun violence tends to spike in the summertime, as does intimate partner violence. For our RISE team, which works at the intersection of those two issues, it’s a busy time of year. Last year, NYCHA released its new Admissions and Continued Occupancy Plan (ACOP) for public notice and comment, marking a significant step toward transparency in the public housing program’s governing policies. Since then, NYLAG's Public Housing Justice Project (PHJP) has partnered with Center for Justice Innovation, RedHook Justice and other organizations in Red Hook to raise awareness and help community members learn about accessing the ACOP site and NYLAG’s PHJP hotline.
