What an amazing experience we had this week! We were delighted to host our esteemed partners at #AdventHealth, Dr. Ashley Ansara, elected officials and City leaders on a field trip to the Altamonte Springs Science Incubator (AS2I). During the field trip, we explored the world of #STEM with #SCPS Millennial Middle School students as they participated in hands-on activities and experiments at Lake Lotus Park and the Altamonte Springs Regional Water Reclamation Facility. It was truly an unforgettable experience! #AS2I is a program that motivates students to discover the practical applications of STEM in the real world. Our program covers various topics including the importance of microscopic organisms and the abundance of wildlife in a biodiverse ecosystem. Thank you all for accompanying us on this incredible journey! Your dedication to supporting STEM education and fostering innovation is truly valuable. Together, we are paving the way for a brighter, more empowered future. #LiveAltamonte #FutureLeaders #STEMEducation Frank Martz Lindse Murphy Jeffrey Villanueva Serita Beamon Ashley Ansara Seminole County Public Schools AdventHealth Jason Burton Rochelle Croskey Amanda Phillips Lee Ricci Anthony Apfelbeck Jim T. The City of Altamonte Springs and the Altamonte Global Innovation Lab (known as AGīL and pronounced “agile”) have partnered with one.network to perform several local government proof of concept deployments of one.network’s innovative "Live Link" and “Network Monitor” platforms, which provide real-time updates on construction and traffic conditions in roadways and streets from data entered by staff in the field. Their revolutionary approach creates a safer environment for workers and drivers. City staff performing work within rights-of-way, whether deploying MOT, rerouting traffic for events or repairing a utility pipe in the street, can input roadways that are being closed in #realtime using one.network’s app. That information is transmitted to the world’s leading GPS providers who feed the data to connected vehicles and devices which then informs drivers of potential workers in the roadway and any upcoming street closures. Drivers are alerted about these disruptions in advance and as they happen. The City is also evaluating one.network’s software and systems to improve public safety and mobility while collaborating on initiatives that advance transportation communications and promote data transparency. The City and AGīL have created an innovation testbed for private sector deployment at scale for solutions that create sustainable and safer communities. As part of AGīL’s testbed approach, the City will also develop a use case for local government deployment of one.network’s platform that can serve as a guide for other local governments in the United States to deploy this solution in their communities. Today, our City had the pleasure of hosting a tour for the Tavistock Development Company, based in #LakeNona, to share our #pureALTA water project and the Altamonte Electric Utility's floating solar energy array. Tavistock and the City have much in common; we both care about sustainable development; believe in embracing emerging technologies; preparing for the future today; and exploring innovations that could advance our communities. Both of our technology, mobility, health, hospitality and education programs have gained national attention. It was a great opportunity to share projects that positively impact our community, and we look forward to teaming up with Tavistock to create meaningful change. #LiveAltamonte #BeInspired Frank Martz Lindse Murphy Juan Fernando Santos Bruce Doig, PE, LEEP AP Leonard Barden, P.E.
