The CCSK is a great starting point for those looking to obtain their CCSP. Obtaining your CCSK counts as 1 year of experience toward the CCSP requirement.
I’m happy to share that I’ve provisionally passed the Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) examination from ISC2! This one was a doozy and I put a lot of thought and effort into preparing for it. I knew I would eventually sit this exam over six months ago when I decided to prepare to enroll in Western Governors University's BS in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance program which provides a CCSP exam voucher upon completing the Managing Cloud Security course. I started back in late January by studying for and later earning the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Practitioner certification to help build a foundation in cloud knowledge. Flash forward to June: I spent an outsized chunk of my vacation time with my head buried in the Cloud Security Alliance Security Guidance v4 before earning their CCSK certification in mid-June. Immediately after that, I got to work on studying for the big kahuna: the CCSP. The CISSP of the cloud. One month, a couple textbooks, a handful of video courses, and 2500 practice questions later, I am beyond relieved to have something to show for the time I have put into studying for this exam. I am also glad I can now rest up a bit without living under the constant stress of a looming exam. Now, I have the next 6 years to meet the 3-year information security work experience requirement to actually earn CCSP certification. To celebrate, I plan to spend this weekend watching lots of One Piece and will perhaps indulge in a few adult beverages 🙂 I could not have done this without the amazing people below: My wife Mike Chapple and David Seidl Guenevere (Gwen) Bettwy (ˈbet ˈwē) Michael Ferullo Ben Malisow Luke Ahmed 🚀 Prabh Nair Prashant Mohan, CISSP-ISSAP, CCSP Andrew Ramdayal Arthur J Deane Joe Glines (taught me how to automate my work --> more study time) People of Reddit Next stop: the Capstone for my BSCSIA program. Stay tuned for another post from me next month once I've graduated!

There you have it folks! Kind of mind boggling that none of these companies have the presence in mind to perform basic disaster recovery planning if key vendors go down or have issues. Let's not forget that you don't have to let companies push updates across your endpoints. That shouldn't even be a thing. Did I mention that ATO In a Box can generate your DR plans and table top for you? Pretty amazing might I say! While this doesn't look malicious, CrowdStrike will have a lot to explain today for the hundreds of millions of dollars of damages caused. Thoughts?
