    On Independence Day, we assembled a telescope and an optical spectrometer to measure the light emitted by different fireworks. This experiment allowed us to understand the metals used to create those vibrant colors. The reality of metals in our atmosphere fuels our determination to create new core memories for the next generation, such as batteries for drone shows. 🇺🇸

    Our Chief Scientist at Electric Goddess, Luke Workman, was recently cited in Electrek.co for his pioneering work with potting materials in battery design. Potting is fully encapsulating components in a resin (most commonly cells). 🔗 Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/gJT4KdV2 E-bike batteries, being among the first larger capacity batteries to hit consumer markets, have taught us about the intricacies of battery safety at scale. Contrary to common objections to potting, our experience has shown that the perceived challenges—like cost and weight—can be effectively managed through thoughtful design. Over the years, Luke and I have faced much pushback about the necessity for potting batteries. Yet, as the industry begins to recognize the value of a safe, rugged battery, it's a validation of our persistence and ethical commitment.
