Appreciate the efforts of the U.S. Small Business Administration and Fairfax City Economic Development to set up and host Monday's Subs for Subs event! A few key takeaways: 1) The SBA reminded us to ensure that we keep our SAM.gov and Dynamic Small Business Search (DSBS) profiles current and aligned. Include Past Performance in your DSBS profile! Thanks Rosetta Rodwell, MBA, CFCM, CPCM and Rahel Molaligne! 2) Check our your local APEX Accelerator! I learned a ton of valuable info from Lisa Wood @ the Virginia APEX Accelerator: · Did you know that Virginia APEX offers a Bid Match service for $150?! · Focus your Capability Statements, tailor when applicable, bring them physically with you to matchmaking events! Cap statements should include: What you do, Differentiators, Past Performance and Company Info - limit use of logos and focus on key words. · Business Card tips - keep the back white so receipents can easily write on it, and make sure to include your capabilities! When you leave with stacks of cards, it's easy to forget who does what. 3) Build as many relationships as you can. Network, go to events, ask questions, offer to help others, connect with intention! It was great representing Evans Consulting and connecting with: Rosetta Rodwell, MBA, CFCM, CPCM Nicole Toulouse, MPA Matt Noordhoff, CSDP Brian Smith, CP.APMP, CKM Ana Bello Elliott Shawn C. Stuckey Dhaval Shrimankar Matthew Shankle Cyndi Wessels Deborah Nicholas Frank LeQuang As a Fairfax native, I loved hearing from the Mayor and the comittment to econonic development in the region I grew up in. Looking forward to the next one!
Our 'Subs for Subs' event on Monday garnered excellent participation, linking small businesses with prime contractors. The event provided an opportunity for one-to-one interactions to pitch their business, and make new connections, coupled with noteworthy tips and resources from our host partner U.S. Small Business Administration, and the Virginia APEX Accelerator – adding substantial value to participants.
