What an incredible Pride month! We spent this past weekend at the Chicago Pride Parade with our friends from Equality Illinois and Gap Inc. As we look back on the month, we're reminded that Pride isn't just a month, a parade, or any single event—it's a continuous celebration of love, acceptance, and equality. For GenderCool, Pride is the Champions and their peers living as their authentic selves. It's the joy of seeing these young people surrounded by thousands of community members who support them for who they are. It's hearing from people around the world who tell us about how GenderCool has impacted their lives and workplaces. It's every moment that transgender and nonbinary people are seen, loved, and raised up. There is still so much work to do, but with the strength of our community and leadership from young people, we know the world is changing into a kinder place for all.

We're ready to wear our pride! We partnered with The GenderCool Project and their Champion Lily to design friendship bracelets for our employees to celebrate Pride Month. Lily's inspiration came from merging both brands' colors while honoring the colors of the Pride flag. GenderCool is a youth-led movement dedicated to helping replace misinformed opinions with positive experiences meeting transgender and non-binary youth. To support their mission, Gap Inc. is donating to the organization and we'll be joining them later this month at the Pride parade in Chicago! Our brand believes in the power of being your authentic self, and we're honored to provide an outlet for our teams to show their pride and express themselves in their own way. For Zac Posen, Creative Director of Gap Inc. and Chief Creative Officer of Old Navy, showing up as your true, authentic self every single day helps collectively bridge gaps to create a better world. To kick off Pride celebrations and to ensure that we are supporting meaningful change in the communities we serve, Gap Inc. is donating to our community partner, The GenderCool Project – a youth-led movement helping to replace misinformed opinions on transgender and non-binary with positive experiences. Together, we can help bridge the inclusion gap as we work toward a more equitable future for the LGBTQ+ community. #GapInc #PrideMonth

Take a moment and listen to the future of our workforce. Last week, Champion Ashton (he/him) was a featured speaker at Out Leadership's Transgender & Nonbinary Business Summit, among other voices at the forefront of inclusive workplaces. His words strike the core of what the next generation are looking for as they embark as leaders in their career fields. With nearly 1 out of 3 young adults coming into the workforce identifying as LGBTQ+, the next gen workforce is focused on building environments where everyone can thrive in the workplace as their authentic selves. Is your firm ready to attract and retain these trailblazers? Learn directly from the GenderCool Champions what the next gen workforce is looking for from prospective employers in terms of inclusive DEI policies and cultures. Please email lev@gendercool.org if you're curious about what we’re doing with other firms who are leading the way!

We are so thrilled to announce that ABC News' Our America: Who I’m Meant To Be has won a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding TV Journalism – Long-Form! This is not just a win for the GenderCool Champions, it’s a win for all transgender and nonbinary youth. A win in honor of your strength, perseverance, and joy which makes the world a better place every day. GenderCool exists because of the power of who you are. Now more than ever, amplifying the stories of these incredible young people is critical to the future of our world. Every day, with their insistence on thriving as their authentic selves, they prove that sharing their stories changes lives. They are already leading the way towards a future where everyone belongs. It is imperative that we listen to them. We are immensely thankful to everyone at GLAAD for the honor of this win, and for our Outstanding Print Article nomination with Susan Miller and USA TODAY. GLAAD continues to stand at the forefront of accelerating acceptance and inclusivity for the LGBTQ+ community and we’re deeply grateful for their understanding of the power of centering youth voices in this journey. We’re also so appreciative of Gio Benitez and ABC News for their dedication and meticulous care in the creation of Our America: Who I’m Meant to Be. We could not have asked for a better team to bring such an important conversation to mainstream tv.
