Our Genesis Polymers team had an amazing time touring the Heartland Polymers plant. It was eye-opening to see their operations firsthand. Then they all enjoyed some team bonding at the Calgary Stampede 🤠 In the photo (from left to right): Mark Cataldo, Michael Cataldo, Alberto Blanco, and Dalyn Flette. https://lnkd.in/eecXrNGe #GenesisPolymers #HeartlandPolymers

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by Hurricane Beryl. Genesis Polymers is outside the hurricane zone and continues to operate as usual. David Maloney shares his insights on the July weather and how it impacts our industry in the article below https://lnkd.in/eecXrNGe #GenesisPolymers #ShellPolymers #HeartlandPolymers #Hurricanezone #HurricaneBeryl

With the official start of the 2024 hurricane season, we would like to take the opportunity to discuss preparedness plans prior to any potential storms. Under storm conditions most Gulf Coast producers deploy railcars to offsite storage sites. Since Shell Polymers and Heartland Polymers are out of the Hurricane Zone, this is not necessarily needed. In addition, Genesis Polymers stores package goods and railcars at our Midwest warehouses. The NOAA is predicting above normal hurricane activity this year. In the event of a natural disaster causing service interruptions, we will share timely updates and work with railroads and other carriers to move product away from the projected storm and impact path. Also, (when appropriate) we will ship orders early. We encourage you to review inventory levels and take into consideration that disruptions can happen. Typically, it is not just the manufacturing facilities, but rail congestion and plant employees dealing with the storm. As Shell Polymers and Heartland Polymers branded distributors, any new shipping destination requires a rate and route; this can be a delay. If you are a potential customer and have not signed a credit application, we urge you to consider this initial step. Furthermore, and to the point of this note – if you have not established rail and route lanes to your location from producers outside of the hurricane zone, we would love to have a conversation with you on how and why to take this vital step long before any activity in the gulf region which could cause disruptions to our industry. We know you have many choices when it comes to thermoplastic resin supply and are grateful to be your preferred partner and trusted supplier for your resin needs. If you have any questions, please give us a call and we can discuss how Genesis Polymers can assist you with a responsible Preparedness Plan.
