The Arc's federation of state and local chapters creates a powerful network ensuring that people with IDD and their families have the strongest civil and human rights advocates promoting and protecting their needs at all levels. Herd Freed Hartz - March Madness Congrats to UConn for being too tough. They ran it from beginning to end and Purdue was so fun to watch as well. The winner of the Herd Freed Hartz pick 'em tourney is Gordon Teddy who is a great guy and a fantastic CIO. The non-profit he chose to support is Medic One. The Medic One Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives by improving pre-hospital emergency care. Through fundraising, advocacy, and collaboration, we support critical programs and initiatives that have a significant impact on the number of lives saved by our region’s Medic One emergency medical system. Inventprise (IVT) was founded in 2012 by Dr. Subhash Kapre with the goal of improving global health. Their mission and focus is on developing efficacious, affordable vaccines for global populations most in need. Over the years, the company has grown from a small R&D lab, operating out of a start-up accelerator in South Lake Union, Seattle, to a clinical-stage biotech organization with sights on commercializing the novel vaccine candidates in our pipeline. Bill Gates cut the ribbon on their new manufacturing facility in 2022 as they are supported by funds from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
