On the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend, Hillwood's associates volunteered at Carry the Load's Dallas Memorial March. The event kicked off at noon with an array of festivities at Reverchon Park, where participants enjoyed live music and a variety of food trucks. The National Relay team ceremoniously handed off the American Flag, prompting participants to embark on a 2-mile loop through the Dallas city streets lined with photos of our service men and women. After the initial parade, willing participants continued the 20-hour march along the Katy Trail.   As a founding sponsor, Hillwood Investment Properties has supported Carry the Load since its inception. Hillwood sponsors a water station that provides marchers with refreshments, including chips and fresh fruit. This year's volunteers were Chris Bell, LEED AP and Alan Raetzman of Hillwood Construction, along with the HIP team, including Scott Norman and his son Henry, John Graham Emslie, Michelle Simpkins, and her family – including her father, a Vietnam War veteran, and Mari Williams.   We extend a special thank you to the dedicated volunteers, veterans, families, civilians and uniting us all, Americans!   #HillwoodCommunity #CommunityService #MemorialDay #IndependenceDay

On Friday, June 7th, Hillwood's spin community celebrated Joe Bass' 200th Spin class at the Turtle Creek Office. Joe started teaching spin classes in 2017. Known for his fun personality, dynamic playlists, and original routines, Joe has inspired many associates to try spin. For his 200th class, 40 people signed up (double our number of bikes). To ensure everyone could participate, Joe Bass AIA, LEED AP and Lillie Harrington of HIP ran two 20-minute spin classes back-to-back. While one group spun, Lillie led a boot camp outside. Jason Mann of the Perot Group surprised Joe with a neon "Joe's Spin Shack" sign above his bike. Attendees received hats to commemorate Joe's Spin Shack, and Ross Perot, Jr. congratulated Joe via video. The HIP team crowned Joe the "King of Hillwood Spin" and provided breakfast tacos, coffee, and a cookie cake. Congratulations Joe! On May 15th, Hillwood’s Midwest office partnered with Sterling Group Detroit to participate in the Urban Therapy Forest project in Detroit, MI. The initiative transformed a 4.5-acre site, comprised of abandoned residences foreclosed upon by the city, into a vibrant green space. With the help of 50 dedicated volunteers, they planted 200 trees and installed three rain gardens containing 1,000 native grasses. The project was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Plant Wise, Rescue Nature Now and The Sterling Group Detroit. Hillwood and Cain International are excited to announce the successful finalization of a £33 million loan for a new 335,000 square-foot industrial storage facility in Crewe, UK, known as “Crewe 335.” Armin Senoner, Hillwood’s Director of Debt Capital Markets, emphasized the significance of this project and the commencement of a strong partnership with Cain International and the continuous expansion of Hillwood throughout the United Kingdom and European Markets. High Plains Industrial Park Building 10 has been recognized by CoStar’s Impact Awards as Calgary’s Commercial Development of the Year. The 414,459 SF building developed by Hillwood and joint-venture partner Highfield Investment Group Inc. was completed in Q2 2023.
