Redefining Energy
About us
The Energy Corridor District is a place with unmatched energy. As a municipal management district, our vision is to be internationally recognized as a high-quality place to work, live and invest. One of the Gulf Coast's foremost urban centers, The Energy Corridor is home to 22,000 residents, 94,000 employees and the world's leading energy and energy services companies. Founded in 2001, The Energy Corridor District works with local, regional and national entities to help make The Energy Corridor one of the nation's most desirable places to live and work. Covering more than 2,000 acres, The District provides long-range urban planning, landscape design and public space improvements; multimodal transportation solutions to alleviate traffic congestion; enhancements for safe pedestrian and bicycle travel; sourcing and securing funding and grants; police patrols and public safety programs; business development support; and ongoing communication to stakeholders about news, issues and events. Located in West Houston along Interstate 10 from Barker Cypress to Kirkwood and extending south along Eldridge Parkway to Briar Forest, The Energy Corridor District offers high-quality, attractive neighborhoods, first-class hotels, world-class healthcare, convenient retail and well-performing schools. Residents and employees alike enjoy more than 50 miles of trails and a 26,000-acre playground of parks, natural areas, sporting fields and picnic areas. The District helped create the West Houston Trails Master Plan, which seeks to nearly double the miles of trails. A highly livable place to work, live, invest and play, The Energy Corridor is a place with unmatched energy.

Recently, the Energy Corridor District engaged with the City of Houston regarding refreshing pavement markings in the area. This has led to significant improvements in the visual and functional aspects of our roadways, particularly in areas where pavement markings were excessively worn. The Houston Public Works crews have addressed these worn markings at strategic locations and intersections. Notably, the intersection of Memorial and Eldridge has seen refreshed crosswalks and select turning arrows, enhancing both pedestrian safety and vehicular navigation. Additionally, the crosswalk on Memorial Drive, which connects the north and south sides of Terry Hershey Park, has also been repainted, ensuring safe passage for park-goers and improving the overall aesthetic of the area. These efforts reflect The Energy Corridor District's ongoing commitment to our core services, ensuring the visual appeal and safety of our community.
