The European Commission is seeking feedback on a draft implementing act under the #NIS2 directive. The NIS2 directive aims to enhance cybersecurity risk management measures and standardize incident reporting requirements for operators throughout the EU. Paul C Dwyer recently asked if we believe ICT suppliers fully understand their obligations under the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA). Here's what Kristine Botha has seen so far: "As we’re speaking with financial institutions seeking practical routes to DORA compliance, it’s clear that there are significant gaps in understanding of their obligations. From the network infrastructure point of view, we can’t emphasize enough the need for accessible, accurate, and up-to-date network intelligence, and the need to continuously validate network state and security posture. DORA is all about identifying where your ICT data is going, and proving that it’s adequately protected by resilient systems and processes. Segmentation, access policies, detailed inventory, configuration - under DORA, it’s not enough for this to live in team member’s heads or in static, fragmented documentation. You must be able to prove compliance with clear evidence mapping and reporting." #DORA #NetworkCompliance #NetworkSecurity
