JA of NM is thankful to partner with Marathon Petroleum Corporation, which helped catalyze our Indigenous Student Outreach. This partnership increases our organizational capacity to listen to and collaborate with Indigenous community members, creating programs that meet the needs of our Indigenous students. Marathon Petroleum Corporation's support ensures that the next generation of Indigenous leaders learn skills and concepts related to financial stability and career success to empower themselves to be leaders, business owners, and changemakers of tomorrow.
“Thank you for your help with what I want to be when I grow up. I also want to thank you for giving me more confidence to graduate high school.” Read more about this student’s experience at Tres Volcanes Community Collaborative School and the impact Junior Achievement of New Mexico is making for Indigenous students across the state. The nonprofit has expanded its Indigenous Student Outreach Program by 230% through a $98,000 grant from Marathon Petroleum. “Prior to working with MPC, we didn’t have the funding or organizational capacity to gather data or expand outreach to educators working with Indigenous students,” said JA of New Mexico President Erin Hagenow. “With this funding, we have been able to build a full Indigenous Student Outreach Program.” #JuniorAchievement #JAinaDay #MarathonPetroleum #MPCgives
