We had an amazing time at the CommerceNext Growth Show! But one favorite moment was hearing CEO Angela Voss and Nuts.com CEO PJ Oleksak discuss the power of TV advertising. Nuts.com has an incredible TV growth story. Since launching their first ever national TV campaign in 2020, they've scaled on the channel to drive both brand and sales results. Like a positive ROAS. New customers. And even growing awareness. Watch Angela and PJ's full discussion at the link in the comments. #Event #Marketing #TV

We're calling out the brand vs performance debate. Because it shouldn't be one vs the other. Emotional storytelling is actually key to driving customer response. Especially for TV advertising. This week on The Marketing Architects Podcast, Angela Voss, Rob DeMars, and Elena Jasper are joined by VP Creative Vivienne Wan to talk: - What it really means to be a creative marketer - How to approach ideas from an audience-first mindset - Why creative work matters so much Plus, find out what 'cloud eggs' are and why your breakfasts might benefit from some rebranding. Only 27.5% of US marketers have formal training—surprising, right? On the other hand, countries like Canada and Ireland are leading the way in marketing education with 35% and 39% of marketers having some formal training. Boosting our effectiveness as marketers requires embracing continuous learning. To get started, tune in to our chat with Dr. Mark Ritson on marketing effectiveness in the US. #marketing #effectiveness #education #MarkRitson

Marketing (done right) is rigorous and data-driven. But it's not rocket science. And it doesn't need to be to achieve repeatable results. In this week's episode of The Marketing Architects Podcast, renowned professor, consultant, and columnist Mark Ritson shares his thoughts on the unintended consequences of the phrase "marketing science," the state of marketing effectiveness in the US, and what we can learn from the history of marketing. The full episode is at the link in the comments. #Marketing #Effectiveness #Podcast

One thing I love about Marketing Architects is that we're a bunch of data nerds. We're obsessed with diving into numbers and leaving no stone unturned. But we also do our best to remember that people are people. Things don't always turn out the way the "science" predicts! A friend recently introduced me to the book "Alchemy," and it was a great reminder to sometimes look away from numbers and consider what's counterintuitive. To be brilliant and different you might want to be irrational. Perhaps you need to change the context of the question, dig beyond the obvious to find the real "why" behind a behavior, or explore an opportunity no one else had the courage to pursue. It won't be comfortable, but it sure makes life more fun and discussions far more interesting. For anyone in strategy or analytics, this is definitely a great read and a welcome reminder that the human mind can take unexpected and unpredictable turns. Personal "value" is, well, personal. And that's hard to predict in a spreadsheet. --- 📚 🎧 💻 This post is part of a series where we ask our team about the books, podcasts, and tools that leveled up their careers. Today's recommendation is from SVP Brand Strategy Catrina McAuliffe. #Leadership #Marketing #Creativity
