When it comes to building next-generation aircraft, there is immense value in taking a model from a 2D screen to a full-scale 85-foot wingspan digital twin in our hangar. We've been able to experience this thanks to the power of the Siemens "industrial metaverse" as one of the first companies selected to use the advanced Sony headset and augmented reality software. This technology is making immersive design a reality and enabling collaborative product engineering capabilities and customer engagement that weren't possible before. Our development pace is skyrocketing with this strategic partnership as we work hand-in-hand with these innovative companies to shape the future of aviation and how it’s built.

"I think we need more competition in the aerospace business. Two aircraft manufacturers, three engine manufacturers, typically only one engine manufacturer per airplane. We need some competition." -Scott Kirby, CEO of United Airlines Scott Kirby was recently interviewed on "The Air Show" podcast while attending the International Air Transportation Association's Annual General Meeting in Dubai, and he expressed a strong desire for increased competition in the commercial aerospace industry, currently dominated by the duopoly of Boeing and Airbus. He believes having more players in the market would drive innovation and force existing manufacturers to invest in developing next-generation aircraft, rather than relying on their market dominance. At Natilus, we wholeheartedly agree with Scott Kirby's call for more competition in the aerospace industry. As a disruptive new entrant, we believe that a diverse and competitive market is essential for driving innovation, efficiency, and customer-centric solutions. The current duopoly has stifled progress, and it's time for fresh perspectives and bold ideas to shape the future of aviation. You can read a summary of Scott Kirby's interview in the following article in “The Air Current" written by Jon Ostrower. https://lnkd.in/gk8rdyaa #innovation #aircraft #boeing #airbus

At Natilus, we share the same passion for innovation and customer-focused product development as the talented teams behind the legendary PA-46 Malibu and its successors. Just as they built upon the work of their forefathers to create value-leading aircraft, we are pushing the boundaries of blended wing aircraft design to revolutionize the industry. Buddy Sessoms #innovation #aviation
It was wonderful to lead such a talented team in adding yet another customer focused addition, the M700, to the PA-46 Malibu legacy. Fresh and passionate teams, focused on a single product, are so effective and such a delight. In particular, Mike Edwards was key to making it real. First we developed an all new modern wing with exceptional payload-range, roughly three decades after the original wing, and then incorporated a growth engine with advanced Garmin avionics to provide enviable performance and operational margins. This is an airplane that makes long distance owner flown travel effortless and pleasurable; while providing tangible value for revenue operations. We stand on the shoulders of our forefathers and have created yet another value leader. Another small dedicated team made the PA-46 a reality. It all started with the POC aircraft pictured below. Bill Moreau is flying as the program test pilot and went on to lead product development when I started. The stories that man could tell. I like to assume Rich Gritter gets photo credits from the chase aircraft. Rich went on to help develop the Questair Venture, or “mini-Malibu,” and then the HondaJet. Many people have made the PA-46 line what it is today. Then some of those same people recognized opportunities to develop other innovative flight vehicles. That led me, and others, to Electra.aero. Some of my colleagues are also now contributing to Archer, Honda Aircraft Company, Joby Aviation, and Natilus. We all left the PA-46 better than we found it, learned a great deal along the way, and then continued innovating. New product development really is a joy.

Natilus Forms DoD Advisory Board to Support Transition of Commercial Technologies Our primary mission is to deliver revolutionary aircraft for commercial operations. We also recognize the immense potential the blended-wing-body aircraft can bring to the next generation of mission critical needs. Today we announced the creation of a Department of Defense (DoD) Advisory Board comprised of distinguished political and military subject matter experts. Each member represents a specific phase of the product life cycle from budget appropriation to sustainment. The DoD Advisory Board will provide invaluable guidance to ensure seamless transition of commercial technology to the United States DoD and its allied forces.
