The OAG is seeking an experienced trusts and estates litigator to serve as an Assistant Attorney General (AAG) in the Rochester Regional Office (RO). Primarily, the AAG will represent the interests of charitable beneficiaries in Surrogate’s Court and Supreme Court proceedings involving trusts and estates with charitable interests; represent the interests of the State in proceedings involving estates administered by the Public Administrator and other estates with unknown beneficiaries; review fiduciary accountings; and review sales, mergers, and other transactions involving not-for-profit organizations. The Real Property Bureau in the Office of the New York State Attorney General (OAG) is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Albany office as an Assistant Attorney General. A strong candidate would have at least five (5) years of post-graduate civil litigation experience with some knowledge of real estate law. The Bureau provides legal assistance to New York State agencies in connection with the acquisition and disposition of public land. Under the Eminent Domain Procedure Law, the Bureau represents the State in court proceedings involving disputes over the State's title to land acquired for public use, and in actions contesting the amount of money the State is to pay in the condemnation of private property. The Medical Malpractice Unit of the OAG's Claims Bureau is seeking a registered nurse or licensed physician to serve as a Medical Analyst in the New York City office. Medical Analysts assigned to the Claims Bureau will analyze and review claims containing allegations of medical malpractice; assist attorneys in the preparation and defense of medical malpractice cases; review voluminous medical records; draft detailed memorandum outlining the medical treatment offered and determine if appropriate care and treatment was rendered; perform relevant medical research and literature searches relevant to the allegations; assist attorneys and others on medical issues; and communicate with hospital medical staff and risk managers.
