Paradise Valley Hospital has been named to the Cal Hospital Compare Patient Safety Honor Roll for 2024, the second consecutive year the hospital has achieved this honor. Hospitals are chosen for the Honor Roll after meeting a rigorous threshold of performance of having at least 2/3 of measured results above the 50th percentile, and none below the 10th. They also must have three "A" Hospital Safety grades from the Leapfrog Group from the past three reporting periods. Paradise Valley Hospital currently has eight consecutive "A" grades. Rose is the working definition of "performing above and beyond her duty." She is appreciated at Bayview as a beacon of kindness and sincerity, often staying well after hours to offer her help. Long-time PVH employee Josie Pedroso was chosen to be the PVH Employee of the Month for April, 2024. Josie is the current Clinical Supervisor of the PVH Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and department stalwart who has been at the Cath Lab for the past 20+ years. She was complimented by one of our staff physicians for the exceptional care she provides for her patients, and for her leadership abilities in keeping her department working at a high level of efficiency, allowing for the best care to be provided for a steadily increasing number of patients.

Irma Tiznado is a member of the EVS department, based primarily on the Bayview campus. She was chosen by her peers to be Paradise Valley Hospital's Employee of the Month for the month for March, 2024. She was singled out for her work with the CSU on a particularly hectic day. Irma was called on to clean after a difficult patient on several, separate occasions. She did, without complaint, and with a professional attitude. The entire CSU staff took note of this and commended Irma for helping make the CSU a warm and friendly place where their patients can receive care.

On behalf of National City Vice Mayor Ditas Yamane, Paradise Valley Hospital hosted a celebration for Philippines Independence Day yesterday. Filipino-American community leaders, local elected officials and their representatives, local community stake-holders, and dignitaries shared in the celebration at our hospital. Paradise Valley Hospital is not only proud to count a sizable number of our staff from the local Filipino community, but we're also proud of the fact that the Philippines Nurses Association was born at Paradise Valley Hospital 50 years ago!
