Our initial review of Gemini for Google Workspace wasn’t very positive, but they just released a beefed up version of their Google Slides feature. Here’s why it’s changed our minds. If you missed our initial review, the Slides integration used to be limited to image generation (uninspired). But they’ve just rolled out the ability to generate polished slide decks from any file in your Drive (inspired). What we liked: ⭐It was instantaneous – Gemini turned a doc into a deck in seconds ⭐It referenced other related files in our Drive and linked them for us ⭐It summarized the content of the presentation in the sidebar for quick scanning If you’ve been holding out, we’re officially encouraging you to give it a try.

Last month, our AI expert Chase Ballard reviewed Gemini for Google Workspace and immediately got requests to review Microsoft Copilot’s similar features. Here’s why Chase vastly prefers it: 1. Copilot offers a seamless experience across the Microsoft ecosystem, which Gemini does not deliver on. 2. The ability to convert a Word doc into a Powerpoint presentation with speaker notes blew him away. 3. Copilot helps you summarize long email threads, complex documents, and data heavy spreadsheets into human readable TL;DRs – a game changer. The only thing Chase could ding it on was that Copilot doesn’t quite stack up as a chatbot to the other big players. His verdict?
