SMAKK's Founder & CEO Katie Klencheski shares her suggestions for reimagining The Body Shop brand. "The Body Shop needs to take a big swing, either looking back to their roots with some serious ‘70s nostalgia (à la Bathing Culture or Vacation) or thinking about the maximalist aesthetics that are overtaking millennial minimalism (like Milk Makeup and Topicals) or even going more high design with unexpected materials and reusable forms (like Humanrace, Costa Brazil and ByHumankind)." Thanks so much to Own It for having SMAKK's Founder & CEO Katie Klencheski on to chat about her path to agency ownership (and more!) with Christy Hiler. #branding #marketing #creativeagency
This week on OWN IT, Christy Hiler talks to SMAKK Studios owner Katie Klencheski. Katie has dedicated her life and career to using creativity to drive meaningful change. The two talked about Katie's love of art, her path to ownership and, of course, her take on what we can do to close the gender gap in agency ownership. We so enjoyed this episode. We know you will, too. https://lnkd.in/gCQ7R7Yn #feminism #entrepreneurship #advetising #adagency #agencylife

"The packaging features playful fonts, delightful category and product names like "Lunchers," "Veggie Loops," "Dippers," and "Fruit Rippers," and original illustrations that make each meal exciting for kids. SMAKK's creative choices include ingredient-inspired characters and creating a system that appeals to the younger audience while making it easy and compelling for parents to make knowledgeable choices. The bold design sets a new standard for kids' lunches and snacks, bridging old-school charm with modern, playful aesthetics." “The opportunity now is inclusion – connecting with consumers that haven’t been part of the conversation and understanding that many people feel left out because of age, body type, abilities, and orientation. This matters to consumers in Gen Z as much as Boomers who are perceived to have ‘aged out’ of the conversation – despite evidence to the contrary.” SMAKK Founder & CEO Katie Klencheski shares her thoughts on where brands belong in the shifting landscape of #sexualwellness for Creative Review. #branding #marketing #wellbeing
With the mainstreaming of sexual wellness products, brands are now front and centre in conversations around pleasure. But should they be here? SMAKK Studios' Katie Klencheski shares some thoughts

"And so the brand’s “Aging Up” line, which includes the Lunchers and an assortment of junk-free junk foods, came with a unique challenge—Little Spoon now had to design its products not just for parents, but for their more cognizant (and opinionated) kids, too. Lewis says fun and interactivity were key. And that likely called to mind products like Lunchables, which haven’t changed all that much since the ’90s. That’s the duality at play here: Today’s parents now wield the purchasing power and love nostalgia like Lunchables. The ingredients? Not so much. And in that paradigm existed an opportunity." To say the SMAKK team was excited to be tapped to design packaging for Little Spoon's new aged-up line would be an understatement. We had so much fun with bold creative choices - including fonts, illustrations, badges, and category and product names - to set the new brand identity apart. Zachary Petit captured Little Spoon’s new line launch so well in this article for Fast Company (and not to mention - we love all the 90s nostalgia to boot)! #design #packaging #illustration

Congrats to our client Little Spoon on launching their new “aged-up” line just in time for back to school! Working to keep the look and feel of the existing brand identity, we used a strategic approach to develop a functional and fun identity for the new products’ packaging. SMAKK led everything from brand strategy and copywriting to product naming, packaging design, and illustration. The result is a differentiated identity that seamlessly fits into Little Spoon’s existing visual identity, while standing apart to appeal to an age group that wants cool and playful products. #brandstrategy #copywriting #illustration #packaging #packagingdesign #visualID
