Big news for Uber and Lyft drivers in Massachusetts: Drivers will be granted rights — including a $32.50-an-hour minimum wage — that the state attorney general’s office says are among the best in the country. It's part of a new deal reached Thursday between the office and the ride-hailing companies. The deal resolves a years-long lawsuit against Uber and Lyft and voids the ballot measure that the Supreme Judicial Court approved Thursday asking voters to establish drivers as independent contractors. A sprawling network of more than 1,200 websites nationwide purport to cover local news but have been accused of pushing slanted stories — if not outright disinformation. Dubbed “pink slime” websites, the sites mostly churn out low-quality articles without local journalists. But on rare occasions, stories can break out into the mainstream. “My worst fear,” said one New Hampshire state representative, "is someone looks at this and thinks it’s real."
