At UF Health Jacksonville, we know that we’re only as strong as the communities we serve. That's why we're celebrating Community Health Improvement Week, June 10-14. Around the nation, this week celebrates partnerships and programming that helps build stronger communities. Through our community engagement department and its initiatives, we focus on building stronger families. By partnering with Healthy Start and offering our Little Miracles program, we provide ongoing support and assistance for mothers navigating the joys and challenges of motherhood. We are immensely proud of the strides we’ve made in advancing the health and well-being of countless individuals and families.

Speech-language pathologists work across the spectrum of care at UF Health Jacksonville, which includes acute care at our UF Health North and downtown locations, as well as post-acute rehabilitation at our Transitional Care Unit. Our SLPs can be seen providing care to a diverse set of populations and diagnoses, ranging from post-stroke or brain injury, to head/neck cancer, or to infants in our neonatal intensive care unit. In acute care, SLPs specifically work on improving or restoring communication and cognition, as well as the ability to eat and drink, to prepare individuals for discharge from the hospital.
