Help us celebrate Frank Feagans for completing the Responsible Conduct of Research for Engineers certification provided by Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program) and the DDN 601 Determining Cybersecurity Incident Materiality Under U.S. SEC Disclosure Rules course provided by Digital Directors Network (DDN). These courses provided Frank the knowledge and skills to continue to keep UTD's cybersecurity up-to-date and safe.     Ever wonder how Frank helps balance his personal and professional life? Whenever he needs a mental health break, Frank enjoys spending time hiking outdoors with family. We are thrilled to recognize our 2024 graduates of the Executive Leadership in Information Technology Excellence (ELITE) program - Scott Simpson and Stephanie McCane! Both were nominated by the University President and CIO, Frank Feagans. This program only occurs every two years and is hosted by The University of Texas at Austin's The LBJ School of Public Affairs and the Texas Department of Information Resources. Over the course of two weeks days, Scott and Stephanie strengthened their executive skills to become better leaders in IT. We are thrilled to announce that Brian Culp, a proud The University of Texas at Dallas alum, has joined the Office of Information Technology as our new Director of IT Service Management (ITSM). Brian will spearhead our ITSM team, concentrating on the innovation and enhancement of UTD’s service management system, Atlas. His expertise will empower OIT to deliver improved and more efficient technical support to our students, staff, and faculty. Welcome aboard, Brian! 

LEARN: Lonestar Education and Research Network provides the educational and research networks for most of the educational institutions in Texas. This quarter's LEARN Board of Directors meeting was held at the Davidson-Gundy Alumni Center in early June. This meeting focused on sharing IT best practices, approving automated tools to support The University of Texas at Dallas's upcoming network refresh, and learning about grant opportunities from the National Science Foundation (NSF) Program Director Kevin Thompson to enhance computing, storage, and network infrastructures. It was also a great opportunity to show off our beautiful campus to the participants as many have not been to UTD's main campus! Thank you Frank Feagans, Scott Simpson, and Stephanie McCane for representing OIT!

Brad Skiles and Juan Medrano recently represented The University of Texas at Dallas’s Office of Information Technology at the Salesforce Education Summit. Brad braved the Salesforce Administration Bootcamp on May 13th, then joined Juan for the summit on May 14th and 15th. They focused on gathering information on how Salesforce could enhance learning experiences at UTD. One of their biggest highlights was watching keynote speaker Andre Agassi, former #1 ranked tennis player and Multi Grand Slam Champion, advocate for education.
