Westerly Hospital recently accepted a donation of blankets for patients at the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Westerly from Valenti Subaru of Westerly and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. “These blankets are about comfort,” said Carrie Kenyon, RN, executive director of Patient Care Services at Westerly Hospital. “Both physically and emotionally they help our patients. For people fighting cancer, to know that others are thinking of them, it means so much. Westerly Hospital thanks Valenti Subaru for doing this year after year.” http://ynh.care/6R

Mario started his YNHH journey in 2014 as a volunteer, spending time with geriatric patients through the hospital’s Elder Horizons program. He was hired as business associate in 2015 and worked on different oncology units. While working, he earned a BS degree in exercise science and became a rehabilitation associate. With encouragement from his colleagues, Mario enrolled in nursing school and became a registered nurse in March 2022. “I greatly value Yale New Haven Health. I have been able to work through various clinical and administrative positions and have seen the different career opportunities here. I always knew I wanted to help people in a hospital setting, but I wasn't certain in what capacity. The friends I made at Yale New Haven Hospital helped prepare me for my current career, where I couldn't be happier.” To learn more, visit http://ynh.care/5U.
