The Women’s Business Enterprise Alliance is committed to increasing business opportunities for woman-owned businesses and corporate members through education, programs, and professional networking. As an affiliate of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the WBEA serves as a third-party certifying organization for women-owned business enterprises (WBEs) in south Texas. Businesses that are at least 51% owned by a woman and meet specific criteria as outlined by WBENC standards and procedures are eligible for this certification -- a designation that is not only recognized but required by most major corporations and governmental agencies as a purchasing criteria. With over 750 certified WBEs, the WBEA membership has grown rapidly since its inception and has become one of the nation's leading certifiers of women-owned businesses by way of its network of corporate sponsors, supplier diversity programs and dedicated WBE’s. Headquartered in Houston, the Women's Business Enterprise Alliance serves over 94 counties in Texas with scholarship and mentoring programs, networking activities, and educational opportunities designed to spark growth and new business opportunities for members and their companies. We are stronger together!! Yesterday in 30 minutes our day went dark as the clouds gathered in a ball that looked like night and the rain and wind waved in at 80 to 100 mph. It seemed like a trailer from a new Twister movie as I hunkered down in our parking lot unable to get back to our building along with many others from the highway taking shelter from the storm. This morning as I checked our building damage, I was met by so many WBEA business neighbors on clean up duty… moving fallen trees and assessing damages. Then, came the smiles of gratitude that we are still here… although without power, we were not powerless to still have impact. Today is another day… another opportunity to smile… to heal… to express gratitude … to meet our neighbors. Sending prayers out to our community that were impacted by this short storm that left lasting impact for many of us. We are Stronger Together. Let’s not wait until disaster to remember. 🦋❤️
