"The proposed law (A4120/S1981) would establish a goal of 20-percent fewer vehicle miles traveled, or VMT, over the next 25 years, following the lead of other states like Minnesota and Colorado, which has helped agencies in both states out west free up more of their transportation dollars for transit projects, and bike and pedestrian spaces, the letter notes. 'In real terms, this means both departments factor in miles traveled by cars into infrastructure decisions and prioritize investments that reduce single occupancy vehicle mileage,' reads the letter. All of us in PR and crisis/issues management are vested in ensuring “the knowledge and circumstance is evident to all.” The public sector is an extremely valuable partner in that endeavor, especially in a world without boundaries. Marketing should be an inherent part a good crisis comms strategy. Calculate risks and be prepared to capitalize on opportunities that amplify your message. Dan Stoneking’s Goodyear blimp challenge is an excellent example of doing that. A great read for anyone in crisis comms.

The connects2050 plan is unique among transportation plans because we have to account for the Plain Sect population in Lancaster County. Substantial growth in Amish travel, particularly in the county’s eastern and western region, has increased the exposure of Plain Sect travelers to heavy truck traffic. This can be dangerous when a person riding a buggy or scooter shares a road with a passing truck. The below excerpt from the plan, taken from page 88, recommends that “the Lancaster County Metropolitan Transportation Organization continue to work closely with the Amish Safety Committee to make safety improvements that will protect the Plain Sect travelers.” Read the plan here: https://lnkd.in/eZcnY6qz   What are your thoughts on Plain Sect travel?
