The Board of Governors is the elected leadership body of the Georgetown University Alumni Association (GUAA), a 501(c)(3) organization that works closely with university leadership and the Board of Directors to provide support to the various Georgetown campuses, and is responsible for protecting and preserving the traditions of Georgetown alumni. Voted on by all alumni of the university, Governors are charged with establishing and reviewing policies and governing procedures regarding all GUAA business (e.g., alumni-student programming, strategic planning, investment decision-making, etc.) as well as serving as a channel for alumni engagement and feedback.
The Board of Governors aims to live the mission of the GUAA, which is to generate goodwill and support for the university and to foster a lifelong connection among alumni, our alma mater and the global Georgetown community. Additionally, the Governors strive to keep friends in touch with each other and with the university, and aim to create social, service, and career opportunities through Georgetown connections around the world.
I served two terms as an elected Governor (2005-2011), continued to served as a Senator once my terms ended from 2011 to 2018, and currently serving as an Appointed Governor. I am the chair of the Awards Committee and also serve on the Executive Committee and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Board of Governors. -
