Each of these elements of the lighting system may be coupled to an integrated interface module. The recessed lighting system provides a reduced set of components while ensuring adaptability and easy installation into a structure. In particular, by including an integrated interface module that allows the light source module, the set of trims, the lens, and the heat sink to be easily replaced with minimal tools and minimal fasteners, the recessed lighting system described herein provides a more efficient and user friendly design in comparison to traditional systems.

One traditionally powered with an internal combustion engine and one fully electric. I was involved on both projects but got capstone credit for my work with the electric car. To fulfill Capstone design requirements, participated extensively as apart of the KU Formula SAE racing team known as Jayhawk Motorsports, building two open wheel racecars. One traditionally powered with an internal combustion engine and one fully electric. I was involved on both projects but got capstone credit for my work with the electric car. This required working closely with electrical engineers to design and build an electrical system and for implementation on a racecar chassis designed and developed by the team. Our team was very successful in 2012 taking overall first place in two of the three competitions held in the United States. As electric team manufacturing lead I was responsible to ensure that parts were manufactured on time and built to specifications and drawings. Building an electric racecar gave me invaluable experience working with new battery technology including Li-Polymer and the challenges designing around them. A video of one of the many cars designed by the team running on track in Michigan Spring 2012 can be found here and endurance FSAE West here.
