Usage of AI is penetrating almost all the dimensions. While the India general elections brought its highs and lows but what stood out most prominently was how AI penetrated the elections this time. Going by the news articles this is first time AI was deployed during elections. However, what stood out was the emergence of deepfakes, presenting captivating yet misleading content. How people sway on such content was amazing. Hi, I wanted to share my experience of buying furniture online from Amazon. Its the worst experience so far for me. Sofa was bought from seller Es espinho through Amazon.in. Order number is 404-7500572-4362712. Product was not good so it was returned but still refund is not provided for it. No acknowledgement was shared while the product was picked up. Amazon.com, Inc. Customer service is also not helping to get the refund. Tried reaching the seller multiple times, they dont pick up the call. FRAUD COMPANY. Need the refund on priority. Amazon shouldn't even allow such kind of sellers onboard. Very disappointed. Will not recommend anyone to buy furnitures online. Waste of money and no response even after months of follow up. Amazon pls help with the refund on priority.

Ever felt frustrated waiting in a long queue at a physical store while making a payment or selecting a product? (I particularly encountered this in the grocery section at Dmart.).Now, in the digital space, we may have bid farewell to queues, but slow page load times test our patience just as much! Just like we prefer seamless shopping without waiting in lines, websites should offer a smooth experience. Slow loading pages can be a barrier to a great online experience. I've collaborated on projects with brilliant minds where leveraging technologies optimized page load times. Significant initiatives observed a 50% reduction in page load times! The outcome? 🛍️ Unlocking Retail Success: Addressing Challenges in Store Performance For an underserved retail market in India, success hinges on various factors, including local preferences, consumer behavior, and the caliber of store management. While there are too many variables to be on top of, I discovered, an alarming 40% of stores not meeting their targets, in recent conversations. A common pain point among retail clients: a lack of visibility for area heads into product level sales / sales return trends by stores. This deficiency not only impacts store sales but also affects the frontline staff's performance and robs them of their incentives. As an after effect, a significant bandwidth goes into managing staff and their disappointment reducing the ability to increase the span of control (ability to manage more suboirdinates) To tackle this issue effectively, I believe retail organizations should work towards; 1 - Empowering area heads (managing multiple stores in the area) with comprehensive insights into sales trends, empowering them to make informed choices like tweaking incentive plan thresholds, adjust product weightages etc so that store level personnel can cater to local preferences 2 - Additionally, add the ability to simulate overall outflow based on historical sales data that can provide invaluable foresight for sales operations personnel This can help eliminate dissatisfaction on store front level and enable area heads to increase their span of control by adding more stores under their ambit. There are a bunch of solutions out there to help you with this; some standalone while some more comprehensive that come with end to end integrations making the process seamless. In observing these passengers, I could categorise three distinct types and it was interesting how one can draw parallels with our own careers. • 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐥𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬 – they walk around the terminal like they own the place, stopping by the regular coffee shop, deeply familiar with both people and process. As we continue to do certain tasks / areas of work repeatedly, we accumulate the knowledge and proficiency, establishing our unique niche. This expertise helps us to navigate the challenges with finesse, asserting our presence in the professional domain. • 𝐍𝐨𝐨𝐛𝐬 – they are the ones who check their pockets multiple times before stepping in for security checks, checking their handbags to ensure they have kept all electronics in a separate tray for scanning, their shoes in a different tray; but despite it all their bags are pulled over separately for a manual scan as they might have forgotten to keep away that small pair of scissors in their checkin bag and then comes the haggling with the security staff as to how can such a small thing be considered a safety concern. In our professional lives until we have built the expertise, we need to get our work reviewed / re-reviewed with someone who is that “frequent flyer” of the area. Gaining expert advices along the way, knowing what to avoid, what to get better at. • 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬  – checking and rechecking their travel document to ensure they have reached the airport on the right day, they have their ID proof document, they mostly have atleast a friend or a family member waiting outside the airport to catch a glimpse of them and say bye umpteen number of times. As someone who is starting their career journey, don’t we all do self-review multiple times before passing it over for a final review and approval. It's so refreshing that someone in the insights community is challenging the notion of targeting. Thank you, Jorge Calvachi, for posting this. Targeting is a thing of the past. Yes. You heard me right. Stop "targeting." Targeting was a proxy used mostly for Media strategy purposes only. Think about it. Identifying your consumer in mere socio-demographic terms was only useful as the information currency to connect a product strategy with the related Media one. You didn't need it to develop a better product/service. It worked like this: if I could describe my consumers in socio-demographic terms, I could select the right Media to reach out to them effectively and efficiently. This is not true anymore. First, a socio-demographic profile cannot describe your consumer today. The picture below tells it all. One could be into DIY woodworking and classic ballet simultaneously. I like classical music, Scandinavian death metal, and Middle Eastern popular songs. People cross boundaries continuously and do not fit in a box anymore. The fact that they are middle-income empty-nesters between 50 and 65 years of age living in a medium-sized Midwest city doesn't tell anything about their interests and needs. Second, the Digital revolution has completely disrupted the Media landscape. While it's difficult, if not impossible, to profile people by socio-demographic traits (due to privacy and legal limitations), it's very easy to profile them by manifested interest and need. In short, socio-demographic targeting is a "middleman" we no longer need. The only reason Google and Meta still provide that data is that most people in marketing and media companies are stuck in the 1990s. PS: with Market Research, it's the same. select by interest, not by socio-demographic. PPS: and if you think you need socio-demographics to "size" your market, then read again all the above, now slowly :) #target #marketing #marketresearch #sociodemo

A few things to remember if impacted by a recent layoff. * Figure out what kind of separation this is. There are some important differences between being furloughed, laid off or permanently terminated and it could mean the difference between having healthcare coverage or not. * Write down your accomplishments and what you want to do next. * Get your layoff in writing from HR/Human Resources. * Collect or check on your final paycheck. * Ask about severance. I’ll teach you to how to negotiate for a better package, including being compensated for any unused vacation days. * File for unemployment. * Figure out your health insurance coverage. You can negotiate with HR to extend your benefits longer. I’ll show you how. * Ask your former manager for a reference and/or feedback, including writing a testimonial on LinkedIn. I was in a workshop this week and the question came up on how does RAG work in relation to vector search and Raj Neervannan explained it perfectly using a deck of cards as an analogy which made me smile as the first time it was explained to me Varun B. did it using Pokémon cards as the analogy. I asked a friendly LLM to explain using Pokémon so you don’t have to. Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) is like having a smart Pokémon trainer who can quickly find and use the best cards from a vast collection. Imagine you’re in a Pokémon battle and need a specific card to win. Instead of sorting through hundreds of cards, your trainer instantly finds the most relevant ones and suggests the best move. This is how RAG combines the strengths of retrieval (finding relevant information) and generation (creating a response). Vector search in this context is like having a special device that understands and finds cards based on their characteristics (type, attack power, abilities) rather than just their names. Each card is encoded into a vector, a series of numbers representing its unique features. When you need a card, the device searches through these vectors to find the ones that are most similar to what you're looking for, ensuring a quick and accurate match. Together, RAG and vector search make a powerful team, allowing you to find the best Pokémon cards quickly and use them effectively in battles, just as they help in efficiently retrieving and generating relevant information in various applications. #RAG #VectorSearch

Weighing the Risks: The Hidden Dangers of Raising Children in India As parents, our paramount concern is the safety and well-being of our children. My family's recent harrowing experience in #Hyderabad India has prompted me to share a crucial perspective for those indian origin parents considering raising their children in India, where safety regulations might not meet the standards you expect. Recently, my son, a US citizen being raised in India to foster close family bonds, suffered life-threatening injuries due to severe negligence at his grandparents' apartment complex owned by Vamsiram Homes / VAMSIRAM BUILDERS AND DEVELOPERS PRIVATE LIMITED. The lack of basic safety measures like fencing and warning signs led to a devastating fall from ground floor podium to parking cellar, resulting in a dire medical emergency, including a Grade 3 Diffuse Axonal Injury (DAI), kidney trauma, and multiple fractures. His fight for life in an ICU for over a week has been a grim wake-up call to the stark realities of systemic shortcomings. The eleven days he spent in the ICU were the most painful and terrifying of our lives. Every second was drenched in fear and uncertainty. The sight of my son, so small and fragile, connected to a maze of tubes and wires, underscored the precariousness of our situation. Sleep evaded us as we hung on to every small sign of improvement, each moment praying for his recovery. This incident exposes a broader issue: the perilous gaps in safety standards and enforcement in some overseas environments. Builder more focused on selling apartment than maintaining basic safety standards, lack of proper audits or corruption by Greater Hyderabad Muncipal Corporation before giving out occupany certificates are concerning issues. As much as living in India can offer enriching cultural experiences and family bonding, it also comes with potential risks that are often overlooked until tragedy strikes. With powerful builders such as Vamsiram involved, we can hardly expect any legal action taking place against them. For those contemplating a similar path, I urge you to consider not just the cultural and familial benefits but also the infrastructure and safety standards of the country. It's crucial to thoroughly investigate and continually advocate for the safety and security measures in any living situation abroad, ensuring that the environment is conducive to health and safety for our most vulnerable.
