🥁🥁 DRUMROLL PLEASE 🥁🥁 DOL Final Rule: Restoring and Extending Overtime Protections #employers Time to prepare! ✔ Review your employees' classifications and salaries to ensure full compliance with the new regulations. ❌ Failure to properly classify and compensate employees can lead to expensive legal implications! 💥 Effective July 1, 2024, the salary threshold will increase to the equivalent of an annual salary of $43,888 per year and increase to $58,656 per year on Jan. 1, 2025, from the current $35,568 per year. 💥The ruling also raises the total annual compensation threshold for highly compensated employees. This threshold will increase to the equivalent of an annual salary of $132,964 per year on July 1, 2024, and increase to $151,164 per year on January 1, 2025, from the current $107,432 per year. TA/HR Coordinators are the backbone of the interview process and the unsung heroes of recruiting. For starters, scheduling can be a nightmare. Getting availabilities from candidates and interviewers can be like pulling teeth. Aligning schedules, attaching resumes, and including links is easy to mess up, especially with multiple invites at once. Speed is crucial in recruiting. Candidates appreciate a fast, organized process, and hiring teams need things to move quickly, especially with competing offers or other time-sensitive situations where every moment counts. Using data compiled by the federal government’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, the True Rate of Unemployment tracks the percentage of the U.S. labor force that does not have a full-time job (35+ hours a week) but wants one, has no job, or does not earn a living wage, conservatively pegged at $25,000 annually before taxes. What every business leader and hiring manager will read in today’s headlines: “…labor market remains solid” https://lnkd.in/gDPXEeZW <— link to news article here Job seekers have got to understand the bias that is happening out there….”why is the person *still* unemployed?” And for goodness sake, be prepared to answer the following (sneaky, cordial, mildly unethical) question: “sooooooo, what have you been up to since you lost your job in May 2023?” Lie if you have to…but do not answer: “looking for a job 40 hours a week every week”. - volunteering; consulting; part-time barista; caring for an ailing family member; online training; night school; etc etc etc. Lastly, please do not allow your ego to prolong your job search…ask for help! #ResumeIsKing #KeepPressingForward #AlwaysBeNetworking #UpdateYourLinkedInProfile #Engage #Pivot
