THE POSITION

Based on Board approval, this position has a newly approved salary range from $10,651.18 - $12,941.67 per month ($127,814.16 - $155,300.04 per year) effective 7/6/2024.

Washington County's Information Technology Services Department is looking for an Application Support and Development Manager to fill a key leadership role in the County's Enterprise System Division.

This position manages the day-to-day operations of busy IT development and support teams with a professional, enterprise-first approach. This is a highly visible position, working daily with multiple county departments and internal teams to ensure effective change management, transparency, teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

This position has direct supervisory responsibility over a number of skilled technical professionals who are responsible for the support and development of key enterprise systems. Included in the duties are long-term planning of system life-cycles, annual budget development with multiple funding streams, stakeholder engagement and participation or leadership over several annual or multi-year projects. Additionally, the role involves ensuring adherence to best practices, fostering a collaborative team environment, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate for this role is a team-oriented and charismatic leader with a strong technical background sufficient to understand and plan for the needs of a complex IT enterprise application systems environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are a must, with a self-starting and positive, can-do approach to working with our key customers.

Essential Job Duties

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field; AND

Six (6) years of experience in supervision and administration of a complex enterprise computing environment, including experience in managing information technology teams.

Additional Licenses, Certificates, Physical Abilities And Specialty Requirements

Possession of a driver's license valid in the State of Oregon and an acceptable driving record.

Successful completion of a criminal background and personal history check.
