The Ideal Candidates Will Have

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To assist the Director of Engineering in maintaining the entire hotel facility, including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs. Ensure the upkeep of guest areas to maintain an attractive hotel.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or its equivalent. Bachelor's degree or higher in related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in engineering managerial role is preferred

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of all types of mechanical equipment such as chillers, boilers, water softeners, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems, maintenance of records of power, water and fuel consumption.
  • Must have experience in office procedures, ordering materials, securing bids, city codes and other applicable building laws, building construction, blueprint reading, etc.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations, including, but not limited to the following statutes and their comparable state and local laws (where applicable): Title VII, ADEA, Equal Pay Act, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, FMLA, and NLRA.
  • Ability to read, write and verbally communicate effectively with team, guests and hotel
  • Team player, values teamwork and has good team building spirit with effective communication
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be effective at listening to understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and AM/PM/Overnight shifts
  • Must have fluent English skills to serve guests and make reports
  • Must be a good communicator. Must be able to train and make reports.
  • Must show understanding of hotel revenues and basic calculations
  • Must know and understand company regulations and applicable laws regarding hotel
  • management.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork.
  • Creative, effective leader and team player, possessing a high degree of professionalism, sound human resources management principles, communication, administrative skills and the ability to make sound and timely business decisions.
  • Results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities
