Assistant Director of Housekeeping

SUMMARY:

The Assistant Director of Housekeeping is responsible for leading a team in providing housekeeping of public spaces for Bluejack National, residential homes, and a multi-unit rental program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION(S):

  • Assists Director of Housekeeping with all the following departmental functions and concerns: assist with AM and PM shifts, maintaining quality assurance in public space and units, linen, and supply inventories, purchasing linen and supplies when needed.
  • Resolves issues arising with members & guests and demonstrates outstanding hospitality through the corrective action taken.
  • Enforces standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the housekeeping team.
  • Supervise Lodging and Housekeeping operations and ensure adherence to all established housekeeping policies, standards, and SOPs.
  • Maintains open and clear communication with all departments and guests to ensure consistent service.
  • Assist with weekly scheduling.
  • Assists with interviewing, hiring, training new housekeepers.
  • Monitor Housekeeping inventories to ensure adequate levels are maintained.
  • Report all maintenance issues through MaintainX.
  • Prepare and complete all reports needed.
  • Responsible for overseeing the Housekeepers, Housemen and Housekeeping Supervisor, ensuring all tasks are completed.
  • Respects Hotel property and work areas by keeping them clean, well maintained, stocked, and properly stored.
  • Eliminates waste of supplies.
  • Assists in maintaining a highly motivated and trained staff that continually strives for excellence, in service and cleanliness.
  • Provides courteous, personalized Guest Service by responding promptly and efficiently to inquiries, requests, and complaints, exhibiting hospitality while striving to exceed Guest expectations.
  • Works around property with exposure to outside weather conditions.
  • Working with cleaning supplies and exposure to hazardous chemicals.


Minimum Qualifications (knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)

  • Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Hires and trains housekeeping staff.
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules and workflow of the department staff ensuring operations are being served timely with the highest degree of quality.
  • Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with policy.


Knowledge And Skills

  • Bilingual strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience and/or training preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, TEAMS, Outlook
  • Jonas and Power BI experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Exceptional customer service experience required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Ability to function under pressure, set priorities and adjust to changing conditions.
  • Must demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and team building skills with associates, peers, and across departments.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


APPROXIMATE SCHEDULE AND HOURS:

  • Full time. May require weekdays, weekends, and Holidays. Schedule flexible as business dictates.


PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires an average amount of physical labor such as bending, stooping, walking, reaching, and standing.
  • Should be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.

  • This position requires an average amount of physical labor such as bending, stooping, walking, reaching, sitting, and standing. This position requires this type of activity throughout the day.
