About The Role

The Assistant Spa Manager manages and oversees the operations and development of the spa in accordance with Four Seasons standards, Spa mission statement and local cultural practices. Interviews, trains, supervise, counsels, schedules and evaluate staff. Assists the Spa Director with managing financial aspects of the operation including forecasting, labor, budgeting, purchasing and inventory control. Assists the Spa Director in the planning and launch of PR events, and internal and local promotions.

What You Will Do

  • Manage and oversee all Spa/Salon areas (Front Desk, Fitness Facilities, Locker Room, Relaxation Lounge, Treatment Rooms and Retail).
  • Interview and select job applicants as well as effectively supervise, discipline and give performance evaluations for spa employees. Foster positive employee morale.
  • Responsible for the administration of goods, requisitions, inventories, storage and cost effective usage of all department related products, according to standards and budget to ensure for smooth operation.
  • Oversee the operation of equipment and cleanliness in all spa areas and coordinate special requirements with Housekeeping, Laundry, and Engineering.
  • Effectively integrate the Spa with the Hotel operations wherever possible and in accordance to the direction of Spa trends.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings to keep employees informed of hotel policies and changes, as well as ways to increase sales and service.
  • Create retail purchase orders in accordance to pars and budget. Organize and facilitate monthly and quarterly retail inventory.
  • Coordinate group bookings and conduct on-site tours of the Spa with key meeting planners.
  • Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in Four Seasons Employee Book.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Assisting various departments with internal standards testing.
  • Participation with external events that represent the Spa Philosophy.

What You Bring

  • Passion for the health and wellness industry.
  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Superior communication skills
  • A superior sense of organization and ability to prioritize in a busy environment
  • Creativity and ability to think outside the box
  • Proven ability to motivate and develop individuals and the team.
  • Very proactive personality
  • Patience and persistence
  • Previous hotel and spa software computer knowledge
  • 2-4 years club and spa Supervisor/management experience
  • Education: College education or equivalent experience.
