This role will serve as both an initial and an escalated resource support to the broader Commerce People organization. This role may handle a variety of issues including, but not limited to: new hire onboarding, I9s, background checks, terminations, exit interviews, status changes, visas, benefits inquiries, HR process and SLA documentation, and other HR inquiries, both routine and complex.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees
Initiate and monitor new employee onboarding
Ensure HR compliance with applicable laws, including I9 compliance of new hires
Maintain knowledge of organizational and departmental policies and procedures; assist in design and implementation of HR policy; update and maintain regularly
Ensure data accuracy and maintain high level of data integrity in HR systems
Troubleshoot and resolve basic to complex level HR issues ensuring a timely response and follow up to the employee
Communicate company and HR policies to employees and managers
Administer open door policy by listening and determining appropriate action
Train and educate employees and managers on HR self-service options and capabilities
Ability to work with HR leaders across the organization to streamline work and look for opportunities to improve process and work habits
Continuous training and learning of HR systems to serve as liaison between Commerce and FHI shared services team on system related capabilities
Continuously pursue process and system efficiencies; operate with high levels of confidentiality and integrity
Ability to flex work hours to accommodate business needs during high volume times
Builds solid working relationships internally, works under moderate supervision and expresses independent judgement
Serves as team trainer and SME for first line team members
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience. PHR preferred.
An ability to work independently; comfortable dealing with ambiguity and changing environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail and strong customer service skills
Prior experience in human resources
Ability to understand technical requirements and hr systems
Can maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality with all materials, and exercise discretion when interfacing with the business
Ability to manage people programs (engagement, communications, onboarding, offboarding)
Manage and handle escalations within the People Connect team
Ability to understand and educate on the ‘bigger picture’ for process and data accuracy; what impacts happen downstream
Knowledge of HR administration procedures
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred
