Associate Director of Technology, Interactive Media Lab

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY, INTERACTIVE MEDIA LAB

The Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA) invites applications for the full-time position of Associate Director of the Interactive Media Lab (IML). The Interactive Media Lab will serve as a prominent anchor for Cleveland Foundation’s MidTown Collaboration Center at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and East 66th Street, the IML will be part of larger, 12-acre innovation district in Cleveland's Hough neighborhood. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Information Systems, the Associate Director is responsible for the oversight and implementation of all technology in the Interactive Media Lab (IML). The role serves as the technical lead for the implementation and support for all technology within the IML.

The Associate Director will Manage the day-to-day technology usage of the IML including budgeting, inventory, circulation, organization, documentation, procurement and equipment upgrades/repairs. Provide long-term planning and strategy for IML technologies. Coordinate and consult about IML technology use with the following stakeholders: CIA students/faculty/staff, industry partners, and the local community. Establish and manage budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support organizational needs. Work collaboratively with other offices and external organizations.

A Bachelor’ degree and minimum of five years of experience working in a media production/technology role. Demonstrated advanced knowledge of emerging XR, AR, VR, 3D, and audio/video production technologies. The successful candidate will have extensive technical skills with creative technology hardware/software including studio/lighting equipment, Unreal Engine/Unity game engines, and Mac/PC administration. Knowledge of project management, scheduling, circulation, inventory, budgeting, and MDM systems as well as experience managing technical resources and supervising employees.

Compensation

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. CIA offers a benefit package including; vacation, sick, and personal time accrual, as well as additional time off while the college is closed during winter break. CIA offers health and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, 403B retirement contribution, tuition remission, free campus parking, and inter-museum council discounts.
