ChampionX is currently looking for an AURA OGI – Hardware / Firmware Development Engineer. This role will be based in Sugar Land, TX.

What You Will Do

• Assist in the prototyping, development, assembly, troubleshooting, and repair of AURA camera hardware, ensuring operational integrity and performance.
• Contribute technical expertise in electronic hardware/firmware and leverage skills in C# programming for software development and system diagnostics.
• Engage in testing procedures to validate the functionality and reliability of AURA camera systems.
• Document technical processes and create maintenance protocols for ongoing support of AURA camera products.
• Work closely with the development team to refine product specifications and enhance camera features.
• Collaborate in the design and development of AURA camera systems, with a focus on advanced navigation and orientation capabilities using GNSS and IMU technologies.
• The candidate will occasionally be required to travel to customer/supplier sites for meetings and field testing of new products. Flexibility for travel is required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrable experience in electronic hardware development, firmware implementation and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Linux-based OS and C# programming or similar firmware level programming languages.
• Familiarity with GNSS, IMU, and related navigation/orientation systems and working with IMX-8 based SOM systems.
• Technical experience with thermal camera hardware or similar opto- electronic systems is preferred and navigation and positioning system knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a track record of working effectively in a collaborative environment.
• Availability for local travel 40%
