TITLE: Communications Content Creator

POSITION SUMMARY: The Communications Content Creator is responsible for coordinating Time for Change Foundation’s (TFCF) communications strategies, marketing, branding, tracking website maintenance and management, SEO, public relations, creation content, and all other duties as assigned. In addition, the Communications Content Creator shall develop, implement, track, and optimize our marketing campaigns across all digital channels. The Communications Content Creator will work with the executive team to develop effective communication strategies to enhance the visibility and support of the agency.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage TFCF’s mission on TFCF website and other social networking channels.
    • i.e. You Tube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
  • Facilitate internal communications among TFC staff. Manage communications calendar.
  • Facilitate external communications that has been approved by the Executive Director with outside agencies, government officials, the press, and the community.
  • Create awareness that will strengthen financial resources to sustain Time for Change Foundation
    • Targeted messages (e-blasts), personal touch thank you recognitions for specific fundraising campaigns, acknowledging funders each quarter in newsletter.
  • Manage media relationships with the press.
  • Support marketing and fundraising efforts.
  • Create collateral materials such: as op-eds, talking points, letters to the editor, including writing, editing, and managing design and production.
  • Design and create newsletters, annual reports, brochures, special event materials, flyers, banners, electronic newsletters, social media content, videos, etc.
  • Create marketing materials and appeal opportunities to engage donors.
  • Create and execute large scale, web-based campaigns to expand awareness and align resources for the organization (video clips from spokesperson, board members and success stories, etc.).
  • Track and archive media clips on website and scrapbook.
  • Write/create and schedule daily and weekly social media posts on TFCF’s social media outlets.
  • Keep website current by writing and posting stories, blogs, and photos in a timely manner and updating content
    • Blast stories through Constant Contact
  • Keep website current by weekly website checks. Update content such as staff and board information, programs, events, etc.
  • Write stories and maintain a TFCF blog that engages alumni, students, donors, key stakeholders, and potential stakeholders
    • upon exit from program, procure 1-2 paragraphs from each client to have bank for use
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong Public Speaker
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Capable of meeting tight deadlines
  • Experience writing press releases, fact sheets, and other communications materials
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the values of TFCF
  • Basic web design skills
  • Ability to manage multiple office computers and profiles from a central server
  • Must possess innovative, creative, and expansive thinking
  • Must have knowledge in current local, state and national political landscape
  • Basic understanding of government affairs at local, state and national levels
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of TFCF and similar social justice agencies
  • Video editing skills are a plus
  • Web savvy – html experience

Minimum Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in the following fields: Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Public Administration, English, other related degree
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a related field, such as strategic communications, public relations, journalism, issues-related campaign work or other non-profit or public sector experience.
  • Experience working with various types of media at national, local and regional levels, i.e. print, broadcast, etc.
  • Typing 50 WPM
