Our client is a growing and fast paced distribution organization in the Dallas area with operations across the country. This organization is a market leader in their field with a consistent track record of superior quality and innovation. The company is gearing up for expansion seeking a strong Controller to help lead and support this growth. This individual will work cross-functionally throughout the organization, including with the accounting, finance and executive teams as well as the sales and operations functions. The Controller will be responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting functions of the company, with a strong emphasis on system and process improvement, implementing accounting and organizational controls, technical US GAAP accounting, and teambuilding.
This is a new role at the company, reporting to the CFO, which is being introduced at this time given the company’s ambitious future growth plans.
This position pays 185K-200K+Bonus.
Responsibilities:
Develop, improve and lead the monthly financial close process with a focus on providing timely and accurate financial statements
Management of accounting functions and staff, which includes G/L Accounting, Financial Reporting, A/R, A/P, Treasury, Payroll, etc.
Responsible for the year-end audit process, including but not limited to: effective communication with the audit team and other 3rd party consultants (valuation, tax, pension), completing financial accounting memos, and preparing the audited financial statements and related disclosures
Actively engage with external auditors to ensure financial reporting compliance
Prepare consolidated monthly and quarterly financial statements
Document processes and ensuring compliance with financial management and accounting regulations
Assistance with M&A due diligence activities when called upon
As necessary, lead integration of the accounting function of any acquired companies
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
CPA required
10+ years total accounting or finance experience
Previous experience with M&A and integrations is a big plus
Previous experience in a distribution business preferred
Knowledge and understanding of GAAP compliance and technical accounting
Advanced competency in financial management and accounting software, including Microsoft Office products
Diverse ERP knowledge and experience
