Compensation: $140,000-$180,000 plus discretionary bonus
This is a HYBRID opportunity. You will work in office 2 days per week and remote 3 days per week.
Position Objective:
To manage activities and results of the entire accounting operations teams. This includes management and oversight of general accounting, accounts payable, billing, collections, and treasury. Manage and ensure completeness of all 3rd party services as they relate to the annual audit, various tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements. This position will report to the CFO.
Key Attributes for this Position:
Lead, Manage & Hold Accountable accounting staff performing general ledger, accounts payable, billing & collections, and regulatory compliance functions
Prepare timely, accurate, and meaningful financial documents such as business reports, financial statements, executive level dashboard and forecasts to understand the financial condition of the business
Communicate necessary financial insights and guidance to the leadership team for strategic decision making
Implementing and managing proper accounting processes and procedures and efficient recordkeeping
Create strategic plans for guiding the advance of the accounting and finance functions
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee and guide the overall general ledger function to ensure accuracy and completeness of the financial books and records of the company.
Oversee and guide the accounts payable process to ensure all invoices and payments are made within the stated terms
Ensure the company’s cash position will adequately cover the future cash outflow requirements, while timely addressing any future potential shortfalls with the CFO.
Oversee and guide the billing and collections process to ensure collections are received in accordance with contractual terms and billing is processed timely and accurately.
Ensure the accounting team is providing prompt, accurate, and courteous service to customers and other constituents
Managing budgeting and forecasting activities
Coordinate activities with outside auditors and third‐party accounting and finance vendors
Produce the monthly financial reporting package to ensure that information provided to leadership is complete and accurate
Provide support to the CFO as needed to support strategic objectives
Maintain and manage SMART financial scorecard metrics
Identify opportunities for better reporting, automation, and efficiency in processes and tools
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and minimum 5 years of relative accounting experience
CPA Required
Evidence of progressive accounting experience in a corporate accounting environment
Exposure to Private Equity cash flows, CapEx, leasing rules, and revenue recognition per GAAP/FASB
Previous experience in telecom preferred.
Previous experience in project‐based accounting preferred.
Advanced skills in Excel required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively with management and co‐workers
Close attention to detail and ability to independently make good sound decisions based on information given
Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure while meeting established deadlines
