The Controller is a Private Equity experienced business leader who, together with the CFO, is responsible for the management of Centricity Research’s accounting and finance function. The scope of work includes partnering with the CFO on the financial management of the company, including the month-end close process, cash management, the production of financial reports, maintenance of the accounting system, budgets, internal controls, and process documentation. The Controller will help develop long-term financial plans including annual budgets and guide management in best practices necessary to accomplish the strategic goals of the organization.


Required Education, Experience & Skills

  • Position can be located in Canada or the U.S.
  • CPA is required
  • Minimum of 8-12 years of relevant experience; ideally with a public/private blend
  • Experience within the healthcare and/or clinical research arena is strongly preferred
  • Experience in working closely with the Company's Private Equity sponsor
  • M&A experience including Purchase Accounting and post-acquisition transformation
  • Prior experience building and leading an accounting team responsible for multi-location reporting and consolidations
  • Cash flow management and reporting
  • Creating and documenting processes and tightening internal controls
  • Financial planning & budgeting
  • Financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Account reconciliation, research, and variance analysis
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Excel). NetSuite is a strong plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Must be able to present complex information quickly and efficiently

Essential Job Functions

  • Build and formalize the accounting function ensuring proper controls and ensure compliance to US GAAP
  • Lead the month-end close process and present critical financial data to the leadership team
  • Cash flow management and reporting
  • Experience in debt compliance reporting and analysis
  • Financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Budgeting and financial planning
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with the leadership team in order to develop business models and operating plans
  • Assist with strategies involving acquisitive transactions and alternative financing scenarios
  • Business decision support on ad hoc investments and other business cases
  • Build and contribute to a collaborative team culture fostering continuous improvement
  • Other duties as needed or assigned
