Our client is an international, mid-size manufacturing company with multi-locations located on the Southeast side of Chicago.

Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for all the company’s finance and accounting activities, including accounting, controlling, treasury, payables, credit, and taxes. The Controller will oversee financials for the multi-location production site, as well as the 2 distribution centers. The Controller is a key member of the company management team and will play an important role in ensuring the attainment of operational and financial performance goals.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee all accounting and finance functions of the company, including bookkeeping, credit collection, AP management, treasury, cost accounting, taxes, and financial reporting.
  • Responsible for the Company’s financials, including the preparation of the business unit’s monthly financial reporting package in accordance with IFRS and annual financial statements in both IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Supervise all daily operations of the accounting, account payables, and credit, and treasury departments.
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles in both US GAAP and IFRS and company procedures and policies. Keep up to date on relevant pronouncements and take the lead in highlighting the impact of new GAAP guidance on the business.
  • Oversee the Cost Accounting activities, in particular, all costing systems and inventory valuations.
  • Oversee credit department activities, including the credit limit granting process, consistent application of company credit policy, and the efficiency of the collection process.
  • Responsible for establishing, publishing, and analyzing all company Key Performance Indicators and various efficiencies ratios, to support review and discussion with top management.
  • Support development and implementation of group financial policies, procedures, and internal controls. Develop, as needed, local policies.
  • Collaborate with the parent company, manage internal and external audits, and implement agreed-upon recommendations resulting from audit findings.
  • Supervises the completion of all statutory reporting and filing requirements, insurance reports and other reports required by federal, state, or city regulation, in coordination with company tax and legal advisors.
  • Provide analysis and insight for other assignments and ad hoc projects as needed, including acquisitions, integration, restructuring activities, impairment analysis, audit committee presentations, and other requests from senior management.
  • Manage the U.S. legal entity insurance programs.
  • Work closely with the FP&A department.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar
  • 10+years of progressive experience in accounting and finance required. Including leading and developing a team.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with cost accounting experience preferred.
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong technology skills. SAP experience a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
