This position is full time and available in Los Angeles.


Responsibilities:


The Creative Director, Video will lead a team of creators and provide support and governance to our video and content teams while shepherding clients toward their best work. Video asks will be primarily short form content—Tiktoks, IG reels, YouTube, etc.


Collaboration is paramount at Day One, and we’ll look to our CD, Video to be a true partner, acting as the key brand creative liaison with client partners and stakeholders across all departments—listening to their needs, working together to solve problems with internal and external solutions, providing creative counsel and ultimately overseeing the creative product and delivery. This role will report into the VP, Creative Director, Video, with oversight from the Group Creative Director.


  • Motivate and lead the internal content team of creators and storytellers to think differently and guide and inspire them to elevate their work
  • Ideate and oversee video content from concept through final delivery
  • Direct an idea in motion - think big picture in real time, with storyboards and budgets in mind when necessary
  • Communicate effectively with editors and teach junior team members
  • Work closely with our Creators + Casting team to identify new partners for us to tap
  • Partner with the production team to review and refine briefs, budgets, timelines and staffing plans
  • Support hiring for and career development of the content team, helping to mentor our existing staff and assessing where we need to evolve as we grow

  • Lead the creative and brand vision for our clients
  • Shape and develop cohesive narratives, maximizing the quality of our output
  • Ideate and develop breakthrough concepts, setting an example for the team.


Requirements:


  • 8+ years of experience of video creative direction experience
  • Comfort working cross discipline
  • Fluency in social media and internet content & trends
  • Expert storyteller - fluent in narrative architecture with specific understanding of formats across different platforms
  • Detailed knowledge of equipment and rigs for shooting high quality content in both video and still form
  • Strong understanding of the creator landscape
  • Experience in video editing software
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing and growing multiple creatives
  • Comfortable with complex assignments and leading a diverse team
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a style that inspires

The Company is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base compensation range for this role is $170K-$200K and this position is eligible for benefits that include medical insurance (health, dental, and vision), retirement plan, paid time off, paid parental leave, new business and employee referral bonuses, etc. Please note that the compensation information provided is a good faith estimate for New York City based hires only and is provided pursuant to the New York City Pay Transparency Law. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as candidates' relevant work experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
